Last evening, Father Randall Allen conducted a house blessing for Bill and Michelle Anderson who recently moved to a new place of residence. Led by Mr. Anderson through the home, Father Randall cleansed each room with holywater and blessed the rooms with oil. In each room of the home, Father Randall and the Andersons joined in prayer dedicating that living space to the Lord. The service ended with a celebration of Holy Eucharist and prayer.
Monday, March1st, Father Randall Allen traveled to Orlando, Florida to give a report on the work of the International Working Group on the Catechism. Father Randall is the chair of this working group which has been charged with developing a catechism for use in the International Communion of the Charismatic Episcopal Church. The working group includes participants from North America, the Philippines, Brazil, and Africa. A first draft of the catechism was presented to the 2009 Fall House of Bishops. A second draft is currently being prepared.
According to Father Randall, the report to the 2010 Spring House of Bishops was given to both inform the House of Bishops of the working group’s progress and to also gain further clarification on couple of important issues. “The meeting with the Bishops went very well,” states Father Randall, “The Bishops are very supportive and continue to help refine the focus of the group helping to move the project forward.” While a catechism for use in the local parish is still sometime away, Father Randall is optimistic that the group is well on it’s way to providing the communion with this much needed teaching tool. Please keep Father Randall and the Working Group on the Catechism in your prayers.
