Deacon David Neece

neeceCharles David Neece was born at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona on February 10, 1959. He was the third of four children. His parents were Charles and Lorena Neece. After he was born, the family was moved to Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines, courtesy of the U. S. Air Force, where his younger sister born, completing the family of two sisters and one brother. After returning from the Philippines, David’s father was stationed at George AFB near Victorville, CA., where they stayed for the next fourteen Years. After his father was discharged from the Air Force, the family moved to Eagle River, Alaska where his mother was employed by the Air Force at Elmendorf AFB, just outside of Anchorage. His family was very involved in the Anchorage Baptist Temple which, at the time, was the largest Church in Alaska.

 

In 1977 David graduated from Chugiak High School and , after a brief attempt at college at Arizona State, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1980. He was a Aircraft Computer Technician and served in the Marines for six years. The young Marine was stationed at El Toro MCAS in California with the 3rd Marine Air Group and served two tours in Japan with some brief stays in Korea and the Philippines.

 

Upon leaving the Marines, David worked for a small international company in Costa Mesa, CA., that had him traveling around the country on a very busy schedule. He serviced and sold instrumentation to all types of environmental agencies and power companies. He has been to almost every Nuclear and Coal power plant in the U.S. In the process of his many visits, he also completed a goal of visiting all fifty states in the U.S.

 

In 1991, while visiting a Marine buddy in Atlanta, he applied at Delta Air Lines and was accepted as a Simulator Technician. While working with Delta Technology, he was living in Sharpsburg, GA and going to church at Trinity Fellowship Assemblies of God. This was his first experience with the gifts of the Spirit, but the Lord blessed and continued to guide him.

 

In 1994 he met Joanne, a scuba instructor, whom he married in November of 1995. They spent their Honeymoon in Bonaire (Netherland Antilles) scuba diving. Soon after being married David and Joanne felt called to leave the Assemblies of God and join the CEC church of Christ the King under Father David Epps, which was meeting at a funeral home in Peachtree City. David was led to begin teaching the children, which consisted of 4 children below the age of nine. He taught them in the foyer of the funeral home and the children’s class eventually grew to more than ten very quickly.

 

On Sept. 5, 1997 the first of four children were born, Elizabeth. Nathan came later, on March 13, 1999, then Caleb on October 14, 2001, then finally Jacob on March 12, 2003. During this time, David and Joanne were both active in the church. David continued in children’s ministry and Joanne in the music ministry.

 

Also during this time, his interest in the CEC continued and he began to take classes from St. Michael’s Seminary. He also continued his college education at Clayton State University in Morrow, GA. On June 14, 2001, he was ordained to the Order of Deacon in Christ’s one, holy, catholic and apostolic church by Bishop John Holloway. He continued his education and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology in 2005 from Clayton State University and also received his Master of Ministry degree from St. Michael’s Seminary in 2006.

 

He continues to work with the children of Christ the King, which now numbers over fifty children, and is currently employed by Perot Systems in Peachtree City. He and his wife are also very active in their sons’ Cub Scout Pack, where he is a Den Leader and his wife is a member of the Pack committee. Deacon David serves on the Rector’s Council of Christ the King and Joanne serves as the church photographer and co-ordinates the Activities Ministry of the church.
