Mrs. Edwina Cowgill

CowgillEdwina Cowgill was born to Edward and Hazel Evans in Newnan GA, where she grew up. After graduating from Newnan High School, she began her college work at Clayton State College and University, majoring in music.

Edwina has been active in church music all of her life. She began her church music work in the Baptist church she and her family attended. Upon her move to Decatur, Georgia in 1974 she became active in a United Methodist Church, serving as the Assistant Pianist, Assistant Organist and as a Choir Member for six years. After moving to Tyrone Georgia in 1980, Edwina joined Fayette Fellowship (later known as Trinity Fellowship Assembly of God) and served as a Choir member for five years, Choir Director for three years, and Assistant Pianist for three years. She was a Sunday school teacher and served as the Leader of Single Adult Ministries. She was employed for just over nine years as the Church Business Administrator at Trinity Fellowship.

At Christ the King CEC, where Edwina is currently a member, she has served on the Worship Team, Assistant Keyboardist for the 10:00 Service and Keyboardist for the 8:00 Service, as a member of the Women’s Council and currently serves as a member of the Parish Council and Director of the Prayer Ministry and has taught numerous classes at CTK. She was installed as a Commissioned Minister of Congregational Care by The Most Rev’d John Holloway, Bishop Ordinary of the Mid-South Diocese, in September, 2003.

Edwina received her Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Counseling from Logos Christian College and University in August, 2005. She is also certified as a Behavioral Counselor with the International Academy of Behavioral Sciences.

She currently serves as the Church Business Administrator and Director of Lay Leadership at Redemption Fellowship Presbyterian Church of America in Fayetteville GA, where she has been employed for 4 years.

Edwina is married to Dave Cowgill and they reside in Newnan, GA. She has two children, Kim and Kyle and one grandson, Mackenzie.
